Agüero and Dembélé return to training with the team

Barcelona’s attackers Sergio ‘Kun’ Agüero and Ousmane Dembélé returned to training partially with the group this Monday, becoming the main novelty of the Barça team’s practice.

The two players, who continue to recover from their respective injuries, for which they have not yet been able to debut with their team this season, “have done part of the work with the group,” said Barcelona.

Agüero, who came to the end of last season as a free agent from Manchester City, has been off the pitch since he was diagnosed with a tendon injury in the calf of his right leg on 9 August.

Dembélé, meanwhile, underwent surgery on June 28 for a disinctioning of the distal tendon of the biceps femoris in his right knee, after injuring himself ten days earlier in the Eurocup match that France drew 1-1 with Hungary.

The partial return of these two players to group training is good news for coach Ronald Koeman, who is gradually recovering injuries after a start to the season weighed down by these absences.

The Dutchman had already recovered Jordi Alba and Ansu Fati before the current international break.

According to the Spanish press, Dembélé and Agüero could even be called up for Sunday’s league game against Valencia. AFP (HN)
