Ajax presents T-shirt in tribute to Bob Marley

The Dutch team presented their alternative clothing inspired by the greatest exponent of reggae. He did it to the rhythm of his song Three little birds, an anthem that plays in the breaks in the Amsterdam Arena.

As happened a few days ago with Lionel Messi at PSG, Ajax has just unleashed a revolution in the Netherlands and on all social networks by presenting its third jersey for the 2021/22 season. What is striking about the uniform is that it is a special edition in tribute to Bob Marley, 40 years after his death.

The alternative, limited-edition t-shirt shows on its shoulders and sleeves the three characteristic stripes of the German brand with the colors identified to the Rastafarian movement, which the greatest exponent of reggae adopted as a philosophy of life and made it known to the world: green, yellow, and red.

In addition, the jacket was featured with a video to the tune of Three Little Birds, a historic Bob Marley song played during halftime at the Amsterdam Arena and adopted by Dutch fans as an anthem from a preseason friendly with Cardiff in 2008.

Even Ky-Mani Marley, one of Bob’s sons, visited the Ajax stadium several times and in a 2018 match he was encouraged to sing along with all the fans who were present in the stands.

In addition to the t-shirt, the capital’s outfit launched a whole series of clothes, including sneakers, jackets and even T-shirts. The protagonists of this initiative were the players, who participated in the videos, sang the songs of the Jamaican artist and posed with the brand new clothing that is already all the rage throughout Europe.
