Soccer player Alex Morgan revealed that she and her family contracted the coronavirus during the end of the year holidays in California.
Morgan recently returned to the United States after playing for Tottenham of England in the FA Women’s Super League in the fall.
The 31-year-old is married to soccer player Servando Carrasco, and they both have a 7-month-old daughter named Charlie.
“We are all in good spirits and recovering well,” Morgan said in a message posted Tuesday on Twitter. “After we complete the isolation, I will follow the guidelines of the United States Federation to ensure that my body recovers completely and can soon be reunited with my teammates on the court.”
The two-time world champion was working on regaining her fitness with Tottenham after Charlie’s birth. He played five games with the Spurs, scoring twice.
The United States women’s team expects to kick off January training camp on Saturday. The team is preparing for the Olympics postponed to the middle of this year in Tokyo. AP (HN).
