Alfa Romeo already has drivers on its return to Formula 1

The Swiss Formula 1 team Alfa Romeo Sauber confirmed this Saturday that its two drivers for next season will be the Monegasque Charles Leclerc and the Swede Marcus Ericsson.

Sauber had announced on Wednesday the return of Alfa Romeo in Formula 1, after 30 years of absence from the Italian brand.

«Alfa Romeo will offer an opportunity to young drivers, as it already happened in their day with two champions like Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa, who debuted with that team. I am pleased to announce that Charles Leclerc and Marcus Ericsson will be the official drivers, ”declared Sergio Marchionne, Fiat skipper, on Saturday at the presentation of the new car.

Sergio Marchionne is CEO of Fiat, which also includes the Maserati, Alfa Romeo and Ferrari brands. This last brand will supply the engines to the new team.
