The Rangers sent Venezuelan shortstop Elvis Andrus to the disabled list with a low back strain and brought up rookie infielder Sherten Apostel from alternate training camp Saturday.
Dominican shortstop Anderson Tejeda was unable to see action in Saturday’s doubleheader due to a stomach bug.
This is the second time Andrus has visited the disabled list due to back problems. The Venezuelan was disqualified from August 20-30 and could have been out for the rest of the campaign. Manager Chris Woodward said the veteran shortstop is unlikely to play again in 2020. (GG) (Taken MLB.COM)
