Angela Miranda could not retain crown

The Honduran boxer Ángela Miranda remained at the gates of consecrating herself, for the third time in a row, champion of the II Carlos Velázquez International Cup, which takes place every year in Guatemala.
The catracha boxer was the rival to beat after winning the gold medal in the last two editions. However, this time he ran into the other big favorite earlier than expected.
Miranda had to fight Puerto Rican Kiria Tapia, a boxer with 14 years of experience and 250 fights, many more than just 22 of the Honduran. However, in the ring the battle was even and the judges had to choose the winner.
In the end, three of the five referees gave Tipia the winner and Miranda was left out of the medal table. “I had asked God to fight Tipia because she is a very experienced boxer and this kind of friction was good for me very well, but I wanted to find her in the final. I’m calm, it was a good fight and it will help me a lot to face the Veracruz Games, ”Angela said.
“Now I will continue preparing to meet my goal, which is to qualify for the Olympic Games. Hopefully I can find sponsors to be able to prepare well ”, added the boxer catracha.
