Argentine Heiland must be active to have a chance, says Sulaimán

Argentine Juan Sebastián Heiland, first classified middleweight of the World Boxing Council (WBC), is obliged to be more active to have new opportunities, said today the president of the organization, Mexican Mauricio Sulaimán.
“Heiland is number one in the world, but he has been with very little activity, they offered him several important fights against Miguel Cotto and the Kazakh Gennady Golovkin, but unfortunately for him none were fulfilled and he was stopped for a long time,” Sulaiman told Efe .
With only one fight in 2015, to 10 rounds, the 28-year-old Argentine and international champion of the WBC, must have regularity, win and wait for what happens with the possible duel of the Mexican Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez, champion, with Golovkin, champion interim, still no definite date.
“He (Heiland) has to fight and is obliged to be more active because when there is inactivity you can lose qualification,” he recalled.
The WBC leader recalled that the Argentine, after his victory in November 2014 in Ireland against Matthew Macklin, “has been compromised between ‘Canelo’ Álvarez and Golovkin.”
Sulaimán explained that the middleweight division, 160 pounds, 72,575 kilos, “has been very tight” and with many commitments and obligations.
“Heiland is a great boxer, we hope he will stay active so that he can eventually play a final tie and become the official challenger; We hope your opportunity comes, it would be very fair, “said Sulaimán.
The ‘Gaucho de Pigüe’, as Heiland is called, has a record of 26 wins, 14 on the fast track, four losses and two draws. EFE
