Argentine pilot in induced coma after road accident was operated successfully

The Argentine Carretera Tourism pilot Mauro Giallombardo, who is in an induced coma after starring in a road accident this Sunday, underwent surgery to “reduce subdural hematoma” and the procedure was “successful”, according to his family in a statement this Monday.

Giallombardo suffered a severe head injury and also a hip fracture when he hit a bus 60 kilometers from the city of Bariloche, Rio Negro province, located in the southwest of the country this Sunday.

The pilot is in the San Carlos de Bariloche Sanatorium, while the three people who traveled with him are admitted to the Villa La Angostura Regional Hospital. EFE
