The Houston Astros acquired the services of Yimi Garcia, who has experience as a closer in the MLB.
After Starling Marte traded to the Oakland Athletics, the Houston Astros continued to strengthen their bullpen where they feel they have been the weakest this MLB season.
Yimi Garcia started the season as a closer for the Miami Marlins, currently he was closing games from time to time alongside Anthony Bass.
According to Jon Heyman, the Astros sent prospect Bryan de la Cruz to the Miami Marlins in exchange for Garcia, who they see as a duo with Kendall Graveman to close out MLB games.
This MLB season, Yimi Garcia is 3-7 with a 3.47 ERA in 36 innings, 35 strikeouts and 15 saves.
Garcia was part of the Los Angeles Dodgers during the beginning of his career, where he did not get as many opportunities and once he got it in the Miami Marlins he showed what he is done. It should be noted that he and his manager Dom Mattilgy had known each other since their rookie days with the Dodgers. (Fielding)
