Attorney appeals ruling in fight in which Román González lost his title
The victory by majority decision of the judges that stripped the Nicaraguan Román ‘Chocolatito’ González of an undefeated and the super flyweight title of the World Council of Boxing (CMB) has been appealed by his attorney, Carlos Blandón.
«I have already filed the amparo (the appeal). I put it before the New York Athletic Commission, I have 72 hours for them to answer me, “said Blandón upon arriving in Managua along with González.
“We are going to go find that title back,” insisted the attorney, who hoped that there will be a rematch with Srisaket Sor Rungvisai
Saturday’s against the Thai was the first loss for “Chocolatito”, who was unbeaten in 46 bouts.
González has been world champion in four different categories: minimum and light fly of the World Association of Boxing (WBA), and fly and super fly of the WBC. EFE
