Azarenka and Wozniaki will play the WTA Monterrey Open

Belarusian Victoria Azarenka and Danish Caroline Wozniaki will participate in the Monterrey Women’s Open that will begin on February 29 and end on March 6, organizers reported today.
Wozniaki, ranked 17th on the WTA charts, will play in Monterrey, the capital of the Mexican state of Nuevo León, for the second time in her career, organizers said at a press conference.
The 25-year-old Danish tennis player topped the rankings in 2010 and 2011 and has remained among the top twenty in the WTA since 2012.
He was a finalist at the United States Open in 2009 and 2014, and in his career he has accumulated 23 titles.
Azarenka, 22 on the world list, will participate in the Mexican tournament for the first time in her career after she canceled her trip in 2014 due to an injury.
The Belarusian won the Australian Open in 2012 and 2013, was a finalist at the US Open in the same years and won a bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics, they said. EFE
