A judge in Chester, England, has rejected for the third time the release on bail of Benjamin Mendy, a Manchester City player accused of four counts of rape and one of sexual assault.
Mendy, 27, who has been in custody for seven weeks, asked to be released on bail for the third time and bail has been rejected. The defenseman is accused of attacking three different women, one of them under the age of 18, at his home in Cheshire.
The charges he faces are rape, for an incident in October 2020, sexual abuse of a woman in January this year, and rape of a woman in August.
The trial will take place on January 24, 2022 and the player remains suspended by his team, which is also conducting an investigation. EFE (HN)
