Belgium celebrates three years in a row as number 1 in the FIFA rankings

The Belgium team led by Spanish Roberto Martínez celebrated three uninterrupted years at number 1 in the FIFA rankings.

The Red Devils gave an account of the event by publishing an image on Twitter with photographs of players such as Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois, Kevin de Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku on a red globe.

After winning their last three international matches against Estonia, the Czech Republic and Belarus, Belgium maintains the top spot in that ranking, ahead of Brazil, England, France, Italy, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, Mexico and Denmark.

Roberto Martínez, for his part, achieved 50 victories with Belgium (in 64 games) in the national team break, an absolute record and consecutive streak that surpasses Guy Thys, who added 49 wins in two periods (1976-1989 and 1990-1901 ). The Red Devils have also scored in their last 38 games.

In the three years since September 20, 2018, Belgium has played a major tournament, the Eurocup, where they fell in the quarterfinal against Italy, ultimately champion.
