Berdych another who says no to the Rio 2016 Games because of the Zika virus

Czech tennis player Tomas Berdych, world number eight, indicated this Saturday that he was leaving the Rio 2016 Olympic Games for fear of the Zika virus.

“I am very sorry to announce that I am not going to take part in the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro,” said the 30-year-old on his Twitter account.

“The reason is the Zika virus that hits the country of the Olympic Games,” added the semifinalist of the last edition of Wimbledon, arguing family priorities on health when making the final decision.

Berdych, who married model Ester Satorova last year, also dropped out of the Czech Davis Cup team, which faces France for the quarterfinals of the world group this weekend.
