Boricua Félix Verdejo will defend WBO title against Mexican Evangelista

The promise of Puerto Rican boxing Félix “El Diamante” Verdejo will defend his undefeated record of 20-0 and the Latin lightweight title of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) on April 16 in San Juan against Mexican Daniel Evangelista.
“The name of the rival makes no difference to me,” Verdejo said in a press release released today by his representatives from the Top Rank company, which will organize the “Solo Boxeo Tecate” poster at the Roberto Clemente coliseum in the Puerto Rican capital.
«I prepare well for any opponent and this time it will not be the exception. I will be in my best condition to give my people a night of joy again, “said the Puerto Rican fighter about his rival, who has fought against prominent former world champions.
Verdejo’s coach and representative, Ricky Márquez, highlighted Evangelista’s gallantry for facing the Puerto Rican boxer.
“I take my hat off to Evangelista for his bravery in coming to our island to try to ruin our plans. It is a rival who comes to put pressure and that will make Felix have to work hard to dominate it, “he said.
Another outstanding fight that will be included in that same lineup will be that of the Puerto Rican promise Christopher “Pitufo” Díaz, who will contest his WBO junior featherweight title against an opponent yet to be determined. EFEUSA
