Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland will be out for “a couple of weeks” with a hip muscle injury, coach Marco Rose announced on Friday.
“Erling will be out, we won’t have him for a couple of weeks. He has a hip flexor injury that just doesn’t allow him to play, ”Rose explained. “It is the same thigh, but in a different location.”
Haaland had barely returned last week from another muscle injury, chipping in two goals in a 3-1 win over Mainz before taking part in the full game in Dortmund’s 4-0 loss to Ajax in the Champions League on Tuesday. .
“It is time to focus on my recovery. I’ll be back stronger! ”The 21-year-old Norwegian wrote on Instagram with a“ soon ”emoji.
Dortmund’s next game against Arminia Bielefeld on Saturday, and the German club’s next game in the Champions League is the return leg against Ajax at home on 3 November.
“Erling was feeling really sad yesterday because he was happy to be back,” Rose said. “Being out again is not good for us, it is not a great thing for the boy, but Erling will receive all the support he needs from the club, the team.”
Haaland did not appear in Norway’s last two games in the European World Cup qualifiers due to his previous injury, and the team is back next month against Latvia and the Netherlands.
Rose added that Dortmund also deal with injuries to two defenders: Belgian right-back Thomas Meunier is unable to train due to a foot problem and left-back Nico Schulz suffers a muscle fiber injury. (AP)
