Boxer Tyson Fury wanted to “die” during his depression

British boxer Tyson Fury, a former heavyweight world champion, confessed that he wanted to “die” during the depression he suffered, in an interview.

Fury confessed his suicidal thoughts on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, hosted by actor, sportscaster and martial arts specialist Joe Rogan.

«I started having crazy ideas. In the summer of 2016 I bought a new Ferrari. One day I was on the highway and I took the car to 300 km / h, heading towards a bridge. Everything did not matter to me. I just wanted to die, end this life. But on the bridge I heard a soft voice: ‘Don’t do that Tyson, think about your children, your family, your boys and your girl, who are going to grow up without their father,’ “he explained.

According to Fury, his journey in the desert began when he defeated Vladimir Klitschko in 2015 and became a world heavyweight champion.

“I woke up and said to myself ‘why did I wake up this morning?’ And the black ideas came from a man who had everything; money, celebrity, glory, titles, a woman and children, he had it all, “he explained.

Fury returned to boxing this year, after a two-year hiatus marked by depression, alcohol and a suspension due to a positive for nandrolone and cocaine.

After defeating Albanian Sefer Seferi in June, Fury will compete against American Deontay Wilder, world heavyweight champion of the World Boxing Council (WBC), on December 1. In April he could meet Briton Anthony Joshua, dominator of the top flight. AFP
