The Costa Rican women’s boxing team will not travel to Bolivia to compete in the Continental Championship due to lack of budget, the Costa Rican Olympic Committee announced today.
Despite the fact that the Costa Rican Boxing Association had this championship within the annual calendar as part of the blank for the Central American Games Nicaragua 2017, it will not be a reality for female boxers since there are no resources to meet the costs of the trip to Santa Cruz de la Sierra explains the statement.
The next event for the Costa Rican boxers will be the World Championship in Astana (Kazakhstan), in May, for which the Costa Rican presence has not yet been confirmed. EFE
