Boxing will now use instant replay

The World Boxing Council (WBC) announced today that it has reached an agreement with the World Boxing Association (WBC) and the International Boxing Federation (IBF) to use instant replay in world championship fights.
The agreement is one of the results of the meeting that the three organizations had last June in Cancun, the CMB said in a statement.
The instant replays “will be used in world championship fights,” as well as in those of affiliated bodies of the WBC, WBA and IBF, the note said.
The WBC shared its protocols and procedures on instant replay, which it has used for eight years, but clarified that each agency will use them at its own discretion.
Instant replay, used in other sports, has helped in WBC world title fights to limit controversial actions that can alter the outcome.
