Brazil beats Ecuador and is perfect in the tie

Brazil defeated Ecuador 2-0 with goals from Richarlison and Neymar in the final, consolidated their undefeated record and extended their lead in the South American qualifiers for the Qatar World Cup with fifteen points out of fifteen possible.

Ecuador entered the field of the Beira Rio Stadium in Porto Alegre to play the match of the seventh day of the qualifying rounds with the intention of playing one-on-one against those led by Adenor Leonardo Bacchi ‘Tite’ and achieved it during the first 45 minutes by holding zero.

Those of the coach Gustavo Alfaro were solid in defense and barely passed the scare of a goal disallowed in the 42nd minute to Gabigol for an offside.

For the second half, Brazil increased the pressure and Ecuador held on until minute 64 when Richarlison scored with his left foot after a good play in which Neymar, the figure of the match, participated.

In the 74th minute, Gabigol again had the opportunity to score against the Ecuadorians but choked on the empty ball and wasted again. It was his last participation in the game since he was withdrawn to allow Roberto Firmino to enter.

In the 88th minute, the VAR gave Brazil a penalty that Neymar converted after the same VAR allowed him to repeat the charge.

Brazil will face Paraguay in Asunción on Tuesday, May 8, and Ecuador will host Peru in Quito. EFE (HN)
