Brazilian Di Grassi wins Formula E first prize

The Brazilian driver Lucas di Grassi, aboard an ABT Schaffler Audi Sport, won the seventh round of the Formula E Electric Car Championship and the first one held on the streets of Paris, thus maintaining the leadership of the competition.
Di Grassi added his third victory of the year in 45 laps of the 1.93 kilometer street circuit installed in the center of the French capital, around the Esplanade des Invalides.
He finished ahead of Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne, 0.853 seconds at the controls of a DS Virgin, and Swiss Sebastien Buemi, who finished 1.6 seconds in a Renault e.Dams.
The Brazilian, second on the starting grid, took the lead on the first lap and gave no choice to his rivals, who could only fight for the podium as they watched the Sao Paulo player add his third victory of the season, after those of the United States and Malaysia.
The race ended with the cars following the safety car after the accident of the Chinese driver Ma Qing Hua (Team Aguri), who crashed at the exit of a curve.
On the first occasion that the Paris “ePrix” was held, some 15,000 spectators witnessed live a test for which part of the cobbled pavement of one of the sections of the ephemeral 14-curve circuit had to be provisionally paved.
