Brazilian driver Bruno Senna, nephew of three-time Formula One champion Ayrton Senna, today visited the museum of former Argentine driver Juan Manuel Fangio in the Argentine city of Balcarce and raced with the cars of the five-time Formula One champion.
«It is a very special day for me. I am living unique experiences. We ate at his house and drove his cars on his track. For me, being here today gives me extra happiness. Ayrton had a nice friendship and great admiration for Fangio, ”said Senna.
Fangio, who died in 1995, won Formula E in 1951, 1954, 1955, 1956 and 1957, and was runner-up in 1950 and 1953.
Senna was accompanied by the Belgian driver Jerome D’Ambrosio and both will compete this Saturday in the fourth round of Formula E, the new category of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) that takes place in electric cars.
«For me it was an honor to drive Juan Manuel Fangio’s car. As a child, both Ayrton and Fangio were legends for us. Today being able to drive their cars is priceless, “said D’Ambrosio.
“Fangio experienced the beginning of Formula One. Now it is our turn to experience the beginning of a new category,” added D’Ambrosio about Formula E, whose first edition was won last year by Brazilian Nelson Piquet Junior, son of the three times Formula One champion Nelson Piquet. EFE.
