The Italian Camila Giorgi, 35 in the world, won the first title of her career by defeating the Swiss Belinda Bencic this Sunday, in the final of the Den Bosch grass tournament, 7-5, 6-3.
The Italian player, who started as the fifth favourite, consummated her victory in one hour and 24 minutes, with eight aces and without giving up her serve once.
Bencic let hers escape twice, and in the second set she was dominated throughout by Giorgi.
Frenchman Nicolas Mahut and Belgian David Goffin face each other in the men’s final. EFE.
