Canelo Álvarez wins by unanimous decision over Jacobs and unifies middleweight titles

Mexican Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez defeated American Daniel Jacobs by unanimous decision and unified the middleweight titles at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Canelo dominated the first part of the fight at will and was dosed in the rest, winning by a double 115-113 and 116-112 to incorporate the sash of the International Boxing Federation (FIB) to the belts that he already owned from the Council World (WBC) and the World Association.

Thus, the Aztec remained with a record of 53-1-2 while his opponent fell to 35-3.

This is how we thought. We had to be patient. We knew he was going to be a difficult fighter but we did things the way we had to, “said the Mexican on television after finishing the fight.

«I have felt good, I have felt great. Now I will want to watch the video to see what the judges have seen but he is a tremendous champion. I’ve given it my all out there. Next time they will see a better Jacobs, “said the American. AFP
