Carlos Cuadras retained his WBC title

Mexican Carlos Cuadras today retained the World Boxing Council (WBC) Super Flyweight title due to a technical draw in four episodes due to a cut to the nose in an accidental head collision with his rival and compatriot José Salgado.
The fight in the city of Los Mochis, Mexican state of Sinaloa, was stopped in the fourth round due to a head clash that caused a cut on Salgado’s left eyelid that made it impossible for him to continue.
The judges decreed a technical tie at 2.28 minutes into the fourth round with which the champion Cuadras maintains the scepter and places his record at 30 wins and one annulled; Salgado has 34 wins, two losses and two canceled.
Mexican Irma García completed a successful defense of the World Boxing Association (WBA) bantamweight champion belt by defeating Brazilian Simeone da Silva by unanimous decision in ten rounds.
