Forward Carlos Tevez, captain and last great idol of Boca Juniors, announced that he is leaving the club.
“I will not continue at the club, it is not a farewell but a see you soon because I will always be there for the fan and for the Xeneize people, not as a player but as the Carlitos of the people,” Tevez said at a press conference at the La Bombonera stadium.
Tevez, 37, will use an exit clause from the contract at no cost starting June 30.
At the Boquense club, Tevez lifted 11 titles, including the 2003 Copa Libertadores and the Intercontinental Cup that same year. The last trophy was the Maradona Cup in January. AP (HN)
