In the middle of the Major League Baseball (MLB) Summer Camp heading into the 2020 season, there is a new sensation in the Los Angeles Dodgers clubhouse. This is Francisco ‘Chico’ Herrera, who with the power of his arm has stolen the cameras in the team’s preseason. Interestingly, ‘Chico’ is not even a Dodgers player.
Francisco Herrera is a young Mexican American who works as a clubhouse assistant for Chávez Ravine’s team.
Due to the lack of players in the intersquad games that the Los Angeles ninth has been leading during its Summer Camp, ‘Chico’ has had the opportunity to play showing great skills for the sport.
‘Chico’ made a name for himself in the baseball world when he kept a running back in the anteroom with an impressive shot at the plate. From then on, the players began to endorse Francisco with the phrase “Don’t run on ‘Chico’” (Don’t run to ‘Chico’). Herrera backtracked into left field to catch a fly ball and proceeded to easily take Chris Taylor out when he tried to smash away and ran from first base.
For now, ‘Chico’ has stood out as an outfielder, but the team has used his at-bats to give the players a chance to play on the roster for the 2020 MLB season. But maybe Herrera has earned his at-bats, and the best part is that there are even players like Justin Turner backing him. (GG) (Taken from Seventh inning)
