Replacing Campbell and Ortiz, coach Luis Fernando Suárez called the experienced 37-year-old right winger Christian Bolaños and 39-year-old forward Álvaro Saborío for the trip to the United States.

Regarding Saborío, the coach highlighted his scoring ability and that he knows the work that a center forward must do, while de Bolaños, a local Saprissa player, commented that he offers him many game possibilities both as a winger and as an inside midfielder.

Saborío, a striker for the local San Carlos, played the 2006 World Cup in Germany, while Bolaños, in addition to that same World Cup, was a figure for Costa Rica in Brazil 2014 and Russia 2018, making him the Costa Rican soccer player with the most participation in World Cups. .

This Monday the Costa Rican delegation underwent antigen analysis and PCR before the trip to Columbus, United States, scheduled for the end of the day.
