Cotto-Kamegai, for vacant WBO junior middleweight title on August 26

The vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior middleweight title was announced today by the Golden Boy Promotions company of the former Oscar de la Hoya.
The fight, which will be played at the StubHub Center in the Californian city of Carson, will mark Cotto’s return to the ring after his loss on November 21, 2015 against Mexican Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez.
“I’m very excited to come back and present a high-level fight for the fans,” Cotto said in a press release. If he defeats Kamegai, he will clinch his sixth title in four divisions.
“Kamegai is a fierce fighter, but I will be ready for him and to capture the title. I can’t wait to train for this fight and return to the ring on August 26, “said the Puerto Rican fighter, who has a 40-5 record and 33 wins by KO, according to the statement.
Kamegai, known as “El Maes recently Kamegai” and with a record of 27-3-2 (24 KO), highlighted: “I am willing to give the fans the kind of aggressive fight they know me with and wait for the referee lift me up the arm of a winner ».
