Cuban Ortiz knocks down Kauffman three times and puts him out of combat

Cuban fighter Luis “King Kong” Ortiz, beat American Travis Kauffman by way of a technical knockout in 10 rounds, in a fight held last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Ortiz, 39, dropped Kauffman three times and knocked him out in the final round of the fight.

The 30-1 Cuban fighter with 26 knockouts won his second fight in a row since suffering a brutal fast-track loss in the 10th round against American Deontay Wilder.

Midway through the sixth round, Ortiz dropped Kauffman with a left to the head.

Reading, Pennsylvania-born Kauffman, who is 32-3 with 23 knockouts, stood up and was able to wrap up the episode.

In the eighth, Ortiz landed another left that sent Kauffman back to the canvas, but he recovered again.

At the beginning of the tenth, the Cuban took out another devastating left that knocked down Kauffman, who quickly got to his feet.

But moments later Ortiz punished him with another left that hurt him, and although Kauffman did not fall, he could not avoid a barrage of combinations of blows with both hands from the Cuban, so the referee decided to stop the fight at 1:58 minutes of the tenth and last assault.EFE
