Cuban tamers repeat World Series victory over Argentine Condors

Fighters Domadores de Cuba won today their second 5-0 victory in a poster played in Havana against the team Cóndores from Argentina in the VII World Series of Boxing (WSB, acronym in English).
Beforehand, in this boxing match played in category C-2, which enrolls the divisions of 52, 60, 69, 81 and +91 kilograms, favoritism was taken for granted and that the Cubans would sweep away.
The most spectacular fights of this duel were offered by the representatives of Domadores with the welterweight Roniel Iglesias (69 kilos) and the super heavyweight José Ángel Larduet (+91).
The Cuban Iglesias, Olympic, World and Pan American champion, almost paralyzes with his powerful punch the Argentine Federico Chinea in the second episode of the fight, where the member of the Condors received a protection count.
The technical superiority of the islander gave him the victory over his rival by unanimous decision of the judges.
But the shortest fight of the night was carried out by José Ángel Larduet who in just a few minutes of the first round knocked out South American Kevin Espíndola.
Although in general the Argentine squad, in full blaze of its figures at the beginning of a new Olympic cycle, brought fighters with little experience, its representative in the 81 kg division, Juan Gabriel Rizo, made a show of courage and good boxing against the champion Olympic and three-time world champion, the Cuban Julio César La Cruz.
The light heavyweight La Cruz, with 19 victories and 3 defeats accumulated in these World Series, is a skilled and extremely technical boxer, characterized by his speed in the ring but evidently he did not expect to find the opposition presented by the Argentine Rizo.
The Cuban fought against a brave, aggressive opponent with constant changes of pace that undoubtedly at some point puzzled him, but the Cuban was emboldened and prevailed with a final vote of 48-41, 48-42, 48-40 , and won the fight.
For the local Armando Martínez in the 60 kg, the victory had no setbacks compared to the anarchic style of the Argentine Joel Marcos Mafauad, thanks to the strength of his hooks, the effective yacht tackles and the power of his blows.
The Cóndores of Argentina were aware of their few options to win at least one victory in this quintet of fights with the Tamers of Cuba, as they had previously stated.
In their debut at the VII WSB, the Cóndores fell 1-4 to Heroicos de Colombia, who will be the Cubans’ next rivals.
In this qualifying cap of the WSB, the Tamers, monarchs of the previous contest, kept their undefeated intact and added their second victory to that of the first poster of the América group of the event, held against the Caciques of Venezuela two weeks ago that also closed 5- 0 in the Coliseum of the Havana Sports City.
