Zach Davies and three Chicago Cubs relievers combined Thursday to pitch the seventh no-hitter of the season in the MLB, shutting the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-0 and equaling the record for the most missed games in a year. since 1900.

The Dodgers received eight passes on balls, at least one from each of Chicago’s pitchers, but couldn’t get past.

The victory went to Davies (5-3), who walked five and threw 94 pitches in six no-hitters against the defending World Series champion in the 16th start of his first season with the Cubs.

Relievers Ryan Tepera and Andrew Chafin each granted a passport, but Los Angeles failed to take advantage of them.
