Curry shines with brand; Duncan reaches 3,000 blocks and Spurs to 50 wins

Point guard Stephen Curry was once again decisive in the victory of the Golden State Warriors with a three-pointer with 6 seconds remaining in extra time, which became the winning shot.
Curry made his twelfth three-pointer of the game with that pitch, with which he tied the league record and broke his own in the away win of the Golden State Warriors (118-121) against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The victory, their fifth in a row, leaves the Warriors (53-5), with the best record in the league and on their way to 73 at the end of the season, something that no one has been able to achieve so far.
Curry, who finished with 46 points and shot 12 of 16 from 3-point range, also broke his record for 3-pointers in a season with 288, compared to 286 last year.
The Warriors’ star point guard, although he missed six minutes due to injury, played 38 and made 14 of 24 field goals, including 12 of 16 triples, and 6 of 8 free throws.
Shooting guard Kawhi Leonard and power forward LaMarcus Aldridge scored 27 and 26 points, respectively, and the San Antonio Spurs extended their winning streak by beating the Houston Rockets (94-104), in their 50th win of the season.
Veteran center Tim Duncan, who played 25 minutes, set another new career high by reaching 3,000 blocks, becoming only the fifth player in NBA history to do so.
Duncan was joined by the legendary Hakeem Olajuwon, Dikembe Mutombo, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Mark Eaton.
The 39-year-old veteran Spurs player, 19 as a professional, achieved his mark with 6:16 to go in the first quarter by putting a stopper on shooting guard James Harden.
Marcus Smart came off the bench and scored 15 points for the Boston Celtics, who beat the Miami Heat 101-89 and added 10 consecutive wins at their TD Garden field and remain second in the Atlantic Division with a record of 35 -25.
The Heat (32-26) lost two in a row but remain leaders of the Southeast Division, but with only a half-game advantage over the Atlanta Hawks.
The Spanish center Pau Gasol got his first triple-double of the season, but could not with the balanced attack of the Portland Trail Blazers who arrived at the United Center in Chicago and won 95-103 against the Bulls, who lost the second game consecutive.
Point guard Damian Lillard with 31 points – the sixth time he has scored 30 or more points in the last seven games -, four assists and four rebounds topped a list of four Trail Blazers players who had double-digit numbers.
The Trail Blazers are second in the Northwest Division at 31-28 after winning Game 9 of the last 10.
The Bulls (30-28) remain eighth in the Eastern Conference, but with a half-game lead over the Detroit Pistons, ninth.
Center Andre Drummond achieved his 50th double-double of the season (15 points and 17 rebounds), establishing himself as the league leader in that section, and helped the visiting Detroit Pistons defeat the Milwaukee Bucks 91-102.
The Pistons (30-29) added three wins in a row and although they remain penultimate in the Central Division, they are half a game behind the Bulls in the fight for eighth place in the Eastern Conference.
Forward Alex Len posted a double-double of 22 points and 16 rebounds and the Phoenix Suns snapped a 13-game losing streak by beating the Memphis Grizzlies 111-106.
The Suns (15-44), who had the worst current losing streak in the NBA, this time knew how to define in the final stretch of the game and found their way to victory again.
Power forward Thaddeus Young scored 21 points in the victory of the Brooklyn Nets, who beat the Utah Jazz 96-98 and gave the surprise of the day by getting the second consecutive win that left them with a 17- 42, the second worst in the Eastern Conference.
The Jazz (28-30), third in the Northwest Division, had forward Gordon Hayward as their top scorer with 27 points.
Rookie center Karl-Anthony Towns led the attack with a double-double of 30 points and 15 rebounds in the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves’ 110-112 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Pelicans (23-35), who are in last place in the Southwest Division, suffered the loss of star power forward Anthony Davis, who was injured during warm-ups.
Power forward Ryan Anderson, who replaced Davis, and shooting guard Eric Gordon, with 31 points each, were the top scorers for the Pelicans.EFE
