The Spanish Dani Sordo (Hyundai) has been penalized with two minutes in the Rally of Mexico for using 29 tires, one more than those established by the regulations, and consequently he has lost what had been his first podium of the season.
The penalty, for violating article 7.2 of the specific regulations of the Mexican rally, makes Sordo fall to fourth place in the final classification.
Team Principal Alain Penasse explained: “Due to a communication error, three new tires were fitted and two
used instead of three used and two new in the i20 WRC New Generation # 4 in the Tire Fitting Zone after the TC20.
