The Argentine Juan Martín del Potro, second seed, and the Spanish Roberto Bautista (N.5) will contest the final of the Auckland tournament, after defeating in the semifinals David Ferrer and Dutch Robin Haase, respectively.
Del Potro, number 12 in the ranking, beat Ferrer in two straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. Bautista, 21st in the ATP classification, needed three sets to get rid of Haase 6-7 (7/9), 7-6 (7/3), 7-6 (7/5).
The two finalists will seek their second title in the New Zealand tournament on Saturday, which Del Potro already won in 2009 and Bautista in 2016.
