Puerto Rican Emmanuel Rodríguez preserved his International Boxing Federation (IBF) world bantamweight title by defeating Australian Jason Moloney in Orlando, Florida, by split decision.
Rodriguez, 26, remains undefeated and now has 19 wins, 12 of them before the limit.
Meanwhile, this was the first loss suffered by Moloney, who had previously won his first 17 professional fights.
Rodríguez must now face Japan’s Naoya Inoue, world titleholder of the World Boxing Association (WBA) roosters, early next year. AFP
