Roger Federer achieved victory in the 1,500 game of his career, against the Polish Peter Gojowczyk, to whom he only yielded three games (6-2, 6-1), in the first round of the Basel Tournament, where the Swiss aspires to a 10th title.
Federer solved the match in his hometown in 53 minutes, in a tournament in which he was a ball boy, against a player who is ranked 112th in the world.
In the next round he will face Moldovan Radu Albot (49th) or Serbian Dusan Lajovic (33rd).
The Tournament of the Swiss city of Basel is held on a hard surface and distributes more than two million euros in prizes.
