The Ferrari of F1.
Raikkonen, who returned this year to the Italian team with which he was world champion in 2007, occupies, after ten races, twelfth place in the championship with 19 points, 68 less than his teammate, the Spanish Fernando Alonso, who has always finished ahead of him.
Team principal Marco Mattiacci believes that Raikkonen, who has one more year on his contract, remains the ‘right’ driver despite his results this season.
“Kimi is the pilot we need. We have to get more points, but it is the one we need. He knows how to do it better. He is a professional, he won a World Cup with Ferrari, he is motivated and knows his area of improvement, ”said Mattiacci.
The director admitted that the situation is difficult for the Finn, but confirmed his confidence in Raikkonen: “He sees Fernando in front, he sees that it is hard and it is a difficult moment, but we are all in this together. He has the greatest confidence and support from Ferrari ”, he assured. EFE
