Madrid City Council firefighters have put out a fire that broke out this afternoon at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium and that has created a large column of smoke that is visible from different parts of the capital, according to Efe sources from Emergencias Madrid.
The flames originated around eight o’clock in the afternoon due to an insulating material that they were installing in the stadium works.

The workers themselves have put out the flames with a fire extinguisher they had.
However, the Madrid City Council Firefighters are reviewing the area to prevent future spread.
The remodeling works of Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu stadium began on June 24, 2019 with a project that has led the white team to play their matches in the Valdebebas sports city. EFE (HN)
