Former Mexican-born boxer Óscar de la Hoya is considering “very, very seriously” running for the 2020 United States presidential election, as he revealed in an interview for the celebrity site TMZ.

De la Hoya, born in Los Angeles and of Mexican parents, is considered one of the best boxers in history. He won the gold medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and achieved six world titles in six different categories (super featherweight to middleweight).

The ‘Golden Boy’ retired permanently in 2009 after suffering a loss by technical knockout against the Filipino Manny Pacquiao after a professional record of 39 wins (30 by knockout) and six losses.
In 2000 he released his album “Oscar de la Hoya”, which earned him a nomination for the Grammy.
