Greinke and Jones enter the Houston Astros’ COVID-19 list

The Houston Astros put starter Zack Greinke and first baseman Taylor Jones on the disabled list Tuesday, citing sanitation protocols.
Manager Dusty Baker indicated that he could not provide further information, but the designation is an indication that the players tested positive or were in contact with someone who has COVID-19.
Baker indicated Greinke will miss his next start. The right-hander is 11-5 in 27 starts this season, as well as a 3.66 ERA and 110 strikeouts.
The Astros called up infielder Robel Garcia and right-hander Josh James from the affiliate team for Tuesday’s game against Seattle, the second of three in the series.
Baker said the team had a six-man rotation planned when Mexican right-hander José Urquidy (right shoulder) returns from the disabled list and the roster expands. Now he will have to maintain the five-player rotation until Greinke returns.
“It seems like that has been the case this year, you know? We have one back and we lose another, “Baker said. “But at least we have enough variants to have one back.” (AP)
