Guard Brussino arrives at the Mavericks and is the tenth Argentine in the NBA

Shooting guard Nicolás Brussino, 23 years old and 2.07 meters tall, has become the tenth Argentine to reach the NBA by signing a three-year contract with the Dallas Mavericks, the Argentine Basketball Confederation (CABB) reported today.

«Nicolás Brussino, escort of the Argentine pre-selection team who is working towards the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, will reach the best league in the world. Although the signature is missing, he has arranged a three-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks,” the CABB announced on its website.

“I am super happy with all this. It means a big step for my career, it will help me grow as a player and as a person. It’s going to be an incredible experience, so we’ll try to make the most of it as much as possible,” Brussino said, according to the Confederation.

Before Pepe Sánchez, Rubén Wolkowyski, Carlos Delfino, Andrés Nocioni, Walter Hermann, Fabricio Oberto, Pablo Prigioni, Luis Scola and Emanuel Ginóbili arrived in the NBA.

Currently three Argentines play in the NBA.

They are Emanuel Ginóbili, of the San Antonio Spurs; Luis Scola, of the Raptures of Toronto; and Pablo Prigioni, of the Los Angeles Clippers.

“The first year is going to be about adapting to the city, the language, the style of play, the regulations, so I have to go little by little. It will help me to work on my physique and adapt to everything, and little by little the possibility of playing will be seen. But I know I have to go slowly,” said Brussino, who played last season at Argentine Peñarol.
