Lewis Hamilton won the Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday, securing the crowning of Mercedes in the world team championship.
The Briton, who had bagged the drivers’ title a couple of weeks ago in Mexico, started first in Sao Paulo and finished less than two seconds ahead of Max Verstappen’s Red Bull.
Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen completed the podium at the Interlagos track.
Hamilton’s 10th win of the season was assisted by French Force India driver Esteban Ocon, who collided with Verstappen on lap 44 when the Dutchman had the advantage.
Verstappen managed to stay in the race and got close to Hamilton on the closing laps. But this was not enough for the Dutchman to obtain what would have been his second consecutive victory.
The Ferrari of German Sebastian Vettel came in fourth place. AP
