The Charlotte Hornets today acquired Courtney Lee from the Memphis Grizzlies in a three-team deal.
The deal includes three other players and four from the upcoming NBA draft.
With the negotiations, PJ Hairston, from the Hornets, becomes part of the Grizzlies, who acquired the services of forward Chris Andersen, from the Miami Heat. The Hornets also sent Brian Roberts to the Heat.
The deal allows the Grizzlies to receive four second-round players, two from the Hornets and two from the Heat.
Rich Cho, general manager of the Hornets, indicated through a statement that “we are excited to add Lee to our roster.”
He added that Lee has shown himself to be “an excellent player on defense, a consistent shooter and a solid scorer for eight years in the league.”
Cho said that with Lee in, the Hornets will get roster depth at a position the team needs. EFE
