Forward Andre Iguodala could be left out of the defending champion Golden State Warriors’ lineup for Game 4 against the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA Western Conference Finals.
If they win that game, the Warriors would reach the NBA grand final for the fifth consecutive year.
“Sunday’s tests revealed nothing serious,” reported the Golden State team, which nevertheless gave Iguodala an uncertain player status for the next game.
Iguodala, 35, injured his left calf and was limited to 18 minutes into the game on Saturday, when his team beat the Blazers in Portland 110-99.
The forward, voted Best Player of the 2015 final, is important in the Golden State device for his role in defense, especially since the injury of Kevin Durant, absent for ten days.
The Wizards also have injured center DeMarcus Cousins, who is in the recovery phase.
Golden State has three straight victories over the Blazers and can reach a fifth straight final Monday in Portland.
The Warriors have played in the last four finals and have won three (2015, 2017 and 2018).
The winner of this series goes against the winner of the Eastern Conference final between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Toronto Raptors, which favors the first 2-0. AFP
