In an exciting finale Neuville conquered the Rally Argentina

The Belgian Thierry Neuville (Hyundai i20 Coupé) achieved a narrow victory in the Rally Argentina, fifth round of the World Championship, and repeated the triumph achieved in France in an exciting final with the British Elfyn Evans (Ford Fiesta), who was just behind seven tenths in the general classification.
The definition was in the last stage ‘Power Stage’, where the British arrived with only 0.6 seconds of advantage over the Belgian, who reversed the difference and ended up celebrating the triumph at the top of a podium completed by the Estonian Ott Tanak ( Ford Fiesta), which finished 29.9 behind the winner.
The World Championship leader, Frenchman Sebastien Ogier (Ford Fiesta), finished in fourth place, 1: 24.7 behind Neuville, in his worst performance of the season where he had made the podium in the four previous races.
The fifth position went to the Finn Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota Yaris), 1: 48.1 behind the winner.
Welshman Evans felt the siege of Neuville since yesterday, when two punctures allowed the Welshman to drastically reduce the lead but only on the Power Stage was he able to surpass it.
Spaniard Dani Sordo (Hyundai i20 Coupe) improved by one position on the final day to finish eighth, ahead of Norwegian Mads Ostberg (Ford Fiesta).
After this fifth race, Ogier kept the first place in the World Rally with 88 points, escorted by Latvala with 75, while Neuville climbed to third place with 54 points.
The next competition on the calendar will be from May 19 to 21 with the 51st edition of the Rally de Portugal, with its epicenter in the city of Porto.
