The Spanish pilot Isidre Esteve, victim of an accident that changed his life in 2007, assured this Tuesday that he feels “ready to truly compete again” in the next edition of the Rally. Dakar and set a goal to finish in the top-20.

“The ultimate goal is to finish in the top-20,” said the Repsol Rally Team rider, who in the motorcycle category took fourth place in 2001 and 2005, his best results in the Dakar.

“I’m ready to really compete again,” announced Isidre Esteve, 45.

The Repsol and Onyx Seguros rider warned that he feels “competitive” and stated that “disability is not a problem.”

“It has not been easy to get here,” he acknowledged, “but we are stubborn and persistent.”
