Isner conquers Newport for the fourth time

American first seed John Isner regained the tournament crown from Newport, which he won for the fourth time in his career after beating Kazakh Alexander Bublik, a rookie in deciding matches, in the final.

Isner won 7-6 (2) 6-3, in 75 minutes, against an opponent he had never faced before.

The American, the fifteenth racket on the ATP circuit, managed to launch his list of successes in 2019, through which he was passing without prominence until now.

A finalist in the Miami Masters 1000 who lost to Roger Federer, Isner, who emerged from the difficulties he encountered in the first set, won the fifteenth title of his career. He won again on the grass of Newport, where he already won in 2011, 2012 and 2017.
