Joey Votto hits 300 home run mark

Joey Votto became the third player in Reds history to hit 300 home runs on Friday. The first baseman gave a two-run homer to Cubs Jake Arrieta. 01

Votto, who doubled in the first inning, returned to the plate with two outs in the third and his team trailed 2-1. He homered off Arrieta’s first pitch, straight into the right field.

It was Votto’s fifth homerun of the season. Fans at Great American Ball Park gave her a standing ovation until she came out of the cave to greet her.

Votto is the third player with the most home runs in franchise history. Johnny Bench is first with 389, followed by Frank Robinson with 324. (GG) (MLB IN SPANISH)
