José Altuve debuts as a “shortstop” in the Major Leagues

In his 730th game in the Major Leagues, Venezuelan José Altuve had his first experience at shortstop. The Houston Astros player was in charge of replacing Carlos Correa after the injury, and even showed that he can do it without problems.
José Altuve spent four innings at shortstop and made a couple of assists. At the end of the game against the Texas Rangers, José Altuve stated that he continues to take ground balls in that position and was ready to take on the challenge.
It is the first opportunity that José Altuve covers shortstop in organized baseball. In the minors he played most of his games at second base and a smaller number at third base. (Courtesy Meridiano.com.ve)
